Tips on Selecting the Right Shower System for Your Home

What should I consider when buying a shower? Choosing the right shower is a balance between your personal showering preference and the capabilities of your home’s plumbing. Whether you are upgrading an existing setup or planning a full bathroom renovation, understanding your water system—gravity-fed, combi-boiler, or mains-pressure—is the most important step in ensuring a powerful and consistent shower.

Core Shower Categories

Thermostatic Shower Mixers: Our range of thermostatic valves maintains a precise, safe water temperature, preventing sudden spikes in heat if someone turns on a tap elsewhere in the house.
Rainfall & Overhead Showers: Create a spa-like retreat with wide-coverage overhead heads, available in both ceiling-mounted and wall-arm configurations.
Slide Rail & Handset Kits: The ultimate in versatility. Perfect for cleaning the shower enclosure or providing a more focused, adjustable spray for daily use.
Digital & Smart Showers: Experience the future of bathing with precise digital temperature control, customizable presets, and water-saving modes that track your usage.

Technical Considerations for Performance

Water Pressure & Flow Rate: This is the most critical technical factor. If you live in an older property with a gravity-fed tank, you will need a shower specifically rated for low pressure (0.1–0.2 bar). If you have a combi-boiler or high-pressure mains, you have a wider range of high-performance options.
Valve Configuration: Are you looking for a concealed valve (for a minimalist, clean look) or an exposed bar valve (easier to install and service without breaking into the wall)?
Diverter Functionality: If you are choosing a bath/shower mixer, ensure the diverter is robust. At low pressures, some diverters struggle to stay engaged, so always verify the "minimum operating pressure" on the product datasheet.
Sustainability: Modern showers now incorporate flow-restricting aerators. These save water without compromising the sensation of the spray, helping you reduce your utility bills without sacrificing comfort.
