Selecting the Right Shower Tray for Your Installation

What should you look for in a shower tray?

The shower tray is the structural core of your showering area. Choosing the right material and profile is essential for both the aesthetic finish of your bathroom and the long-term integrity of your floor. Our range is curated to provide the perfect balance between structural rigidity, slip resistance, and ease of installation.

Core Shower Tray Categories

Stone Resin Trays: Renowned for their strength and rigidity, these trays provide a solid, premium feel. They are often thinner than acrylic alternatives, making them ideal for a sleek, modern look.
Acrylic Trays: Lightweight and affordable, acrylic trays are excellent for standard installations. They are easy to handle during fitting and provide a warm-to-the-touch surface.
Low-Profile & Flush-to-Floor: Achieve a minimalist "wet room" look with our ultra-slim trays. These are perfect for creating a seamless transition between your bathroom floor and your shower enclosure.
Quadrant, Rectangular & Square: We stock a comprehensive range of shapes to ensure a perfect fit for any corner or alcove installation.

Technical Considerations Before You Buy

The "Waste" Factor: Ensure your chosen tray is compatible with a high-flow waste to handle the volume of water from modern power showers. A standard waste may not be sufficient for large overhead rainfall heads.
Slip Resistance: Safety is paramount. Look for trays with an "Anti-Slip" rating (often marked as Class A or B) if you are designing a bathroom for elderly users or a busy family environment.
Subfloor Integrity: If you are installing a heavy stone resin tray, ensure your joists or subfloor can support the weight. For timber floors, extra reinforcement may be required.
Tiling & Watertightness: If you are opting for a "tiling upstand" (a slight lip on the tray), it allows you to tile down over the edge, creating a superior watertight seal compared to standard flat-edge trays.
