Understanding Electric Showers: Efficiency & Installation

Why choose an electric shower for your home?

Electric showers are a practical solution for many UK households because they heat water instantaneously as it passes through the unit. Unlike mixer showers that rely on your boiler or hot water cylinder, an electric shower operates independently, providing a reliable hot shower even if your main water heating system is inactive.

Core Features to Consider

KW Rating (Power): We offer showers ranging from 7.5kW to 10.5kW. A higher kilowatt rating typically provides a stronger flow rate, which is ideal if you prefer a more powerful showering experience.
Temperature Stabilisation: Modern electric showers feature advanced internal sensors to maintain a constant temperature, preventing sudden fluctuations if someone else uses a tap elsewhere in the house.
Safety & Compliance: Our range includes models with automatic "phased shutdown" features, which flush out residual hot water after use to prevent limescale buildup and protect the next user from an initial burst of hot water.
Design & Finish: From sleek white and chrome finishes to ultra-modern matte black, our electric showers are designed to complement contemporary bathroom aesthetics while remaining durable in humid environments.

Technical Considerations Before You Buy

Electrical Requirements: Replacing an existing electric shower is straightforward, but upgrading to a higher kilowatt model may require an upgrade to your home's electrical cabling. Always consult a qualified electrician to ensure your current circuit can handle the load.
Water Pressure: Electric showers are generally designed for mains-pressure cold water. Ensure your property meets the minimum pressure requirements specified by the manufacturer to ensure optimal performance.
Installation Space: Check the dimensions of your existing shower unit. Our range includes models with multiple pipe and cable entry points, making it easier to retrofit these units to your existing plumbing and electrical setup.
Maintenance: Regularly cleaning the showerhead is essential for electric showers, as limescale buildup can restrict flow and cause the internal heating element to overheat and fail prematurely.
