Selecting Your Perfect Bathtub: Design, Material, and Space

Answer: What makes a high-quality bath?

A bath is the focal point of the bathroom. Choosing the right one requires balancing your personal design preference with the physical limitations of your space and the capabilities of your water system. Our collection features premium materials—including high-gloss acrylic, stone-resin, and reinforced steel—selected for their superior thermal insulation and long-term durability.

Key Bathtub Categories

Freestanding Baths: The pinnacle of bathroom luxury. Available in modern "egg" shapes or traditional slipper/roll-top styles, these create a stunning centrepiece.
Shower-Baths: The ultimate multi-functional choice. Designed for busy family bathrooms, these L-shape or P-shape baths provide a generous area for showering without sacrificing the ability to have a relaxing soak.
Standard & Double-Ended Baths: The workhorses of the bathroom. Double-ended baths, with the waste placed in the center, offer the most comfortable and symmetrical soaking experience for one or two people.
Corner & Space-Saving Baths: Specifically engineered to maximise tight footprints, these provide a generous internal capacity while fitting neatly into awkward architectural layouts.

Technical Considerations Before You Buy

Heat Retention: Look for "Reinforced" or "Double-Skinned" acrylic. These materials retain heat longer than standard thin-gauge acrylic, meaning your bath stays warmer for a more enjoyable soak.
Floor Load & Weight: Freestanding baths, particularly stone-resin models, are heavy. Before purchasing, verify your floor structure—especially on upper-level floors—to ensure it can handle the combined weight of the bath, water, and person.
Waste & Overflow Placement: Check the waste position (end-mounted vs centre-mounted) to ensure it aligns with your existing bathroom plumbing.
Tap Holes: Many luxury freestanding baths come without tap holes. This requires you to install floor-mounted (freestanding) tap stands or wall-mounted mixers, which should be factored into your budget and layout planning.
