Selecting the Ideal Rectangular Shower Tray

Why choose a rectangular profile?

The rectangular shower tray is the quintessential choice for modern bathroom design. Offering a larger footprint than square alternatives, these trays provide the space required for luxurious, high-performance shower systems. Whether you are installing a walk-in wet room or a standard glass enclosure, our collection features trays that combine structural rigidity with sleek, minimalist aesthetics.

Core Tray Categories

Low-Profile (Slimline) Trays: Designed to sit almost flush with your floor, these trays provide the modern "wet room" look without the complexity of a full-tiled installation.
Stone Resin Trays: Our most popular option for stability and longevity. These trays are heavy, solid, and provide a premium, "cold-to-the-touch" natural stone feel that is inherently rigid.
Acrylic-Capped Trays: A lightweight and cost-effective solution. These feature a high-gloss finish that is easy to clean and resistant to scuffs, making them ideal for busy family bathrooms.
Slip-Resistant Finishes: Safety is paramount. Many of our rectangular trays feature integrated textured surfaces that meet high-grade slip-resistance standards without compromising on style.

Technical Considerations Before You Buy

Drainage Direction: Rectangular trays are available with either side-waste or end-waste positions. Check your existing pipework to ensure you choose a tray that aligns with your current drain location.
Support & Levelling: For larger rectangular trays, ensure you have the appropriate "Easy-Plumb" leg and panel kit if your plumbing cannot be recessed into the floor.
Size Accuracy: Always measure your total available space twice. Ensure your chosen size leaves enough clearance for your shower door’s swing radius if you are using a hinged or pivot door.
Weight & Installation: Stone resin trays are significantly heavier than acrylic. Ensure your floor structure can support the weight of the tray, the enclosure, and the user, especially in older properties with timber joists.
