Buy Shower Trays Online from Plumb-Warehouse.co.uk
Plumb-Warehouse.co.uk sells a wide range for shower trays. Most are available for next-day delivery.
This post looks at the options available when buying shower trays.
Shower Tray Shapes
There are three basic shapes for shower trays: Square, Rectangular or Quadrant. A quadrant shower tray has two straight sides and typically a curved edge. It is designed to fit a curved shower enclosure door.
The straight sides of the quadrant tray might be the same size – known as a square quadrant. Or they might be different lengths – known as an offset quadrant.
Waste Location
It is important to plan ahead about where the waste should be. This might be dictated by where your floor will allow the waste pipe to flow. Wastes are typically in the centre of the tray; the centre of one side of the tray; or in a corner.
Materials
Shower trays are typically made from acrylic (or acrylic covering a base of a different material; stone resin or stone resin with an acrylic coating. The latter is generally considered to be the best quality.
Height
Trays can be flat so they are flush with the rest of the floor. They can be low rise where there is a small lip to stop the water flowing out but be easy to step into. Or they can be the more traditional height with sides a few inches high.
Raised?
If it is difficult to fit the waste under the floor, it is possible to buy a riser kit which lifts the shower tray above the level of the floor to create space for the waste. (Our riser kits can all be found on this page.)
Colour
Shower trays are mostly white. There is a stylish alternative of black flat trays – often with the stone effect finish.
Finish
The stone effect finishes mentioned above help reduce slipping. But even without the stone effect, there are plenty of anti-slip shower trays available.
Planning
Most of our shower trays are available for delivery in 1 or 2 working days. It is best not to rely on that though and to order the tray well in advance so that you don’t run into any issues with the installation of your new bathrooms. Supply chains are not yet back to normal following the Covid pandemic.
